Admission of Students through Vertical Transfer

Students who are admitted to the institution by successfully placing into the department through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS);

• The student applies to the Faculty Dean’s Office for exemption with a petition and submits their transcript as part of the application.
• The Departmental Exemption and Transfer Committee reviews the student’s transcript within the scope of the application and compares it with the existing department curriculum, and decides which courses the student will be exempt from in accordance with the relevant regulations.
• The Program Exemption Committee processes the courses from which the student will be exempt into the “Exemption and Transfer Table Form” and then submits the Commission Decision to the Department.
• The transfer forms evaluated by the Commission are forwarded to the Directorate of Student Affairs after the relevant Administrative Board decision.
• As stated in Article 9 of the Directive, the student may object within 5 (five) working days from the date of notification of the approved exemption and transfer form. Objections are resolved by the latest by the course add-drop deadline.
