Dr. Atsü was born in 1968, in Istanbul. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Istanbul while he completed his graduate studies in the Faculty of Medicine of Akdeniz University in 1991.

He completed his post-graduate studies in the Department of Urology of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, and became an Urologist in 2000.

In addition, he continued working in the fields of Endourology and Urooncology in the same university for 2 years.

He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2006, and Professor in 2015.

Dr. Atsü has an approximate of 50 publications, most of which are published in international journals, over 150 conference proceedings which he presented in both national and international congresses, and over 300 academic citations of his work.

He also has various professional awards from national and international Urology congresses.

He has carried out various peer-reviewing roles and has memberships of numerous scientific associations such as; Society of Urological Surgery (ÜCD), Turkish Association of Urology (TÜD), American Urological Association (AUA) and European Association of Urology (EAU).

He has worked as a faculty member in Hasan Kalyoncu University since 2015.

In addition to his academic career and working as an urologist in public and private healthcare institutions for almost 20 years, Dr. Atsü was appointed the Rector of Istanbul Kent University on 14.01.2020.

His wife, Dr. A. Nilhan Atsü is a Dermatologist and Assistant Professor while his son M. Emre Atsü is continuing his postgraduate studies in the Department of Politics and International Relations of Oxford University (DPIR).
