GENERAL INFORMATION
The Nursing Simulation Laboratory provides an innovative training environment where cognitive, psychomotor, and attitudinal skills are developed. This laboratory offers students a learning environment in which they can experience real-life situations, helping them enhance their cognitive, psychomotor, and attitudinal knowledge and skills. The use of simulation in nursing education aims to provide students with the opportunity to experience real-world environments and improve their clinical skills and attitudes. Thus, students can enhance their clinical skills in an effective learning environment while simulating real patient settings.
Laboratory Infrastructure
Located on the basement floor (-1) of the Kağıthane campus, the Simulation Center covers a gross area of 41 m² and provides an educational space for simulation applications used in nursing education. This center offers nursing students practice-based clinical training, allowing them to experience various medical situations they may encounter in real life in a safe and controlled environment.
Simulation applications are conducted using various methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs. These include high-fidelity simulators that replicate realistic disease scenarios and emergency interventions, as well as role-playing techniques that allow students to assume different roles. These methods contribute to an interactive and comprehensive educational process that enhances the clinical competencies of nursing students.
The simulations used in education are designed according to specific learning objectives, with each scenario structured to develop students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills. Simulations are managed by faculty members from a control cabin within the room, enabling real-time monitoring, management, and intervention when necessary. Faculty members track students' performance in real-time, providing immediate feedback and guiding the learning process.
