GENERAL INFORMATION

The Reproductive Health and Family Planning Laboratory provides hands-on training on the anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive systems. The laboratory aims to teach students how to assess reproductive health issues, develop preventive approaches, and correctly use family planning methods. Through practical applications related to pregnancy monitoring and support, students can integrate theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. With its modern infrastructure, the laboratory is designed to equip students with essential professional competencies.

Laboratory Infrastructure

Located on the basement floor (-1) of the Kağıthane campus, the Basic Skills, Reproductive Health, and Family Planning Laboratory covers a gross area of 50.8 m². It provides practical training on infection control and hygiene, including sterilization techniques, handwashing procedures, and infection risk reduction methods. Additionally, fundamental midwifery practices such as normal birth management, emergency interventions, and neonatal care are covered.

Students receive detailed instruction on maternal and newborn care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Intravenous applications are demonstrated practically on models. The laboratory aims to enhance students' professional competence by allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in a hands-on environment.
