  • The Purpose of the Program

The cosmetics industry, which is one of the few sectors with the highest export power in the world, has a significant market share. In this respect, there will always be a need for qualified technical personnel for the sector. Our main goal is to respond to this need with the theoretical education and practical applications we offer to the students of the program at our university. The main purpose of our program is to ensure that our students have a solid cosmetic knowledge with our curriculum that has a high scientific background and to train qualified professionals who can reinforce their knowledge by reflecting their theoretical knowledge into practice in our advanced laboratories.

  • Earned Degree

Students of the Cosmetic Technology program are entitled to receive an associate degree in Cosmetic Technology after successfully completing the required and elective courses. Graduates of the department are also called Cosmetic Technicians.

  • Registration Acceptance Conditions

In order to be accepted to this program, it is necessary to have completed high school or equivalent education, to have obtained a diploma and to have obtained sufficient points in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Students are accepted to the program according to the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education. Foreign Students are accepted within the framework of the success criteria determined by the Senate.

  • Graduation Requirements

The program provides 2 years of associate degree education. In order to obtain an associate degree in cosmetics, students must successfully complete all of the mandatory (90 ECTS) and elective courses (30 ECTS) required to take in the program, and the overall weighted grade point average must be at least 2.0 out of 4.00. Istanbul Kent University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation ( https://kms.kaysis.gov.tr/Home/Goster/199066 ) is applied.

  • Recognition of Previous Learning 

Istanbul Kent University Associate Degree, License Exemption and Adjustment Procedures Directive ( https://kms.kaysis.gov.tr/Home/Goster/183095 ) are implemented.

  • Program Qualification

 

  • Qualification Conditions and Rules Offered in the Program 

All of the studies that a student must do in order to successfully complete a course (theoretical course, application, seminar, individual study, exams, assignments, etc.) Are expressed by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). ECTS is a student-centered credit system based on the student's workload. The student is obliged to take at least 30 ECTS of courses in each semester. The student's success status when he/she graduates is determined by the ACADEMIC AVERAGE. The success status in a course is determined by evaluating the average of the midterm exam grade and the final or make-up exam. In order for a student to graduate, he /she must have completed all the courses in the curriculum with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, and the overall grade point average must be at least 60 out of 100.   • Exams, Measurement and Evaluation

 Exams are evaluated over 100 full marks. The end-of-year achievement grade is the grade obtained as a result of collecting 40% of the in-year grade point average and 60% of the end-of-year exam grade.
