Saime TOPTAN
She was born in 1945 in Zonguldak. She studied at Private Kilimli School, Zonguldak Elementary School and Zonguldak Mehmet Celikel High School. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, Istanbul University in 1967.
She served as Legal Counselor at Zonguldak Coal Enterprises, and self-employed lawyer, Assistant Public Prosecutor in Kalecik, Prosecutor at Directorate General for Penal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, and Judge at the 7th and 6th Civil Chambers of the Supreme Court.
Assuming active roles as a founder, executive and member in various national and international studies at the foundations and associations engaging in education and training of disabled individuals and females, she presented many scientific declarations at the NGOs, elementary schools and universities in several provinces, conducted various conferences and seminars, and published her articles on these matters in several journals and newspapers. All these works of her brought many plaques, plates and certificates granted to her by the universities, governor's offices, municipalities, NGOs, associations, foundations and media companies She also served as a newspaper columnist in Sabah between 2002-2012.
She released a total of six books: Siirde Yasamak and Icimizdeki Engeller, the proceeds of which were granted to the Turkey Education and Solidarity Foundation for People with Disabilities (OZEV); Sessiz Kar, the proceeds of which were granted to the Foundation of Turkiyem; Engel-siz Bir Hayat, the proceeds of which were granted to the Foundation of People with Mental Disabilities (IZEV); Cinar, the proceeds of which were granted to the Foundation of Topaloglu; Engelli Kim?, the proceeds of which were granted to SERCEV.
She is a member of ILESAM (Collecting Society of Turkey for Scientific and Literary Works), Member of the Administrative Board of the Association of Women and Youth Platform, and Member of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Kent University.
Saime Toptan is married to Koksal Toptan with 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
