Hungarian street band 'Band Of Streets' gave a concert at the university's Taksim campus, hosted by Istanbul Kent Sanat, with the invitation of the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center.

The band of Streets, which has performed many works from the past to the present, held its Istanbul concert in Istanbul Kent University's Taksim campus, hosted by Istanbul Kent Sanat. The group, which was invited by the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center, gave a short concert in the courtyard of the university.

“WE PRESENT ISTANBUL KENT ART TO TURKEY AND ISTANBUL'S CULTURAL LIFE”

Founding Director of Istanbul Kent Art, Associate Professor Dr. Ahmet İlkay Ceyhan said, “Today, we are holding the first event of Istanbul Kent Sanat, an affiliate of the Foundation for Accessible Education (ENEV) and Istanbul Kent University, with the concert we organized jointly with the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center. Band Of Streets is here at the invitation of the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center. We have a mission to ensure intercultural communication and to take part in cultural developments. Based on this, we organized such an organization to have a pleasant time with an international group. We wanted to make a pleasant start. May Istanbul City Art be beneficial to the cultural life of Turkey and Istanbul.”

“KNOWN AS THE BEST STREET BAND IN HUNGARY”

Director of the Hungarian Cultural Center, Dr. Gabor Fodor stated that the Band Of Streets Hungarian team came to Turkey for the 3rd time and said, “The group brings Hungarian joy to Turkey for the 3rd time. This time they will give concerts in Kocaeli, Istanbul, Bursa and Ankara. It is recognized as the best street band in Hungary. Before the matches of the Hungarian National Football team, they play music in the streets to cheer up the fans. After Kent University in Istanbul, they will meet with Istanbulites in Şişhane square.”

“WE FEEL VERY GOOD IN TURKEY”

Mate Füzy from Band Of Streets stated that they are very happy to be in Turkey for the 3rd time and said, “We feel very good in Turkey. Our group is now 10 years old. It's actually our patent to play marching band music in this kind of street band style in Hungary, and we're very proud of that. In addition to Turkey, we gave concerts on the streets in Spain and Italy. We had the chance to give a concert at the world fair in Italy. We were in Kocaeli yesterday. We are in Istanbul today. Tomorrow we will go to Bursa and then to Ankara. We came upon the invitation of the Hungarian Ambassador to Ankara. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him very much.
