In the Supporting Child and Early Intervention Unit which is available for the use of the students of the Department of Child Development, development support programs for children with atypical development than expected for their age of development or whose development is under at risk are prepared and implemented in accordance with the principles of early intervention support programs. Scientific studies on children and adults with special needs are carried out within the scope of the unit.

As part of the courses, students of the Department of Child Development observe under the leadership of faculty members in the unit, prepare support programs in line with the developmental assessment and conduct family interviews.
